My Breaking Point

I've been thinking about creating this blog for a while.  Even if only one person reads this, then I feel it will have fulfilled its purpose.  I feel with all the people that cross my path, I see so many people struggle with loving who they really are.  Whether it be because of their life circumstances, body-image issues, relationship status struggles, or lack of faith, these are daily struggles I feel everyone faces at least once in their life.  I say it because I have dealt all these issues for most my life.

My severe downfall was almost a year ago.  I won't get too personal yet, but my heart had been shattered by someone I truly cared about.  Someone I thought I could spend my life with, but choose someone else.

To say that I felt feelings of rejection, worthless, unlovable, heartache, loneliness, abandonment is an understatement.  I am a very religious person and I remember that day texting my girlfriends saying, "I need your faith and prayers, because I don't have it."  I felt broken.

I had struggled with self worth issues my entire life.  Never believing I was good enough for my friends, my family, my significant others, and my God.

This particular situation was my breaking point.

I went into a severe depression (which I will discuss at a later time) and life seemed hopeless.  After months of struggling, I finally got help.

I'm not saying it was one particular thing I did that helped me get out of it, but I know the biggest change that helped was my perspective about myself.  I started to analyze the lies the world and Satan were telling me.  They were simply all lies and false beliefs. It took a while, but I finally began to sincerely ask God what he thought about me.  EVERY SINGLE TIME all it was, was an overwhelming feeling of love, one that could be lead to tears.

I remember being with one of my best friend's mom and she told me think about a parent.  They don't just hold the baby and tell the child they simply love them once.  They tell them over and over again. That is how God feels about each one of us.  We just have to listen.

This is a slight sample of all I feel about the issues of self-worth and God's love for us. I don't know where this blog will go, but I know there are things I need to share, or maybe it is simply for my own growth and continual healing. Regardless I hope I can accurately portray how God truly is in the daily facets of our life and that we can truly live a posYOUtive life.
